What is WASH?

WASH stands for WAter (nearly 1 billion people lack access to water), Sanitation (over 2.5 billion people don’t have access to adequate sanitation), and Hygiene (proper hygiene both improves water quality and prevents disease). Diseases caused by inadequate water, sanitation, and hygiene remain the world’s most serious health problems, causing 80% of sickness in developing countries.

What is WASH for Lent?

WASH for Lent is a call to the Christian community to make Lent a season of response to the global water and sanitation crisis through prayer, study, and action.

Why this website?
